Who runs AltaCaliber and how we work

An editorial resource about natural supplements for men's health, written in Jakarta for men comparing vitamins for men at the shelf.

AltaCaliber is an editorial resource about natural supplements for men's health, based in Jakarta and written for men comparing vitamins and multivitamins in Indonesia and beyond. We are not a store, we do not sell products, and we do not take payment for coverage. This page explains who writes the material, how we research it, and what we will and will not claim on the site.

What this site is for

We cover the men's supplements aisle as a reading problem. Labels are dense, marketing language is fast, and the two rarely match. Our job is to explain categories, formats, and ingredients so you can compare products on your own terms.

That means explaining what daily support means on a panel, how a 50+ formula differs from a standard multi, and why a gummy serving is often two pieces rather than one. It does not mean telling you which bottle to buy. Where a term is vague, we say so; where a category overlaps another, we draw the line and explain where the line came from.

How we research supplements

We work from product labels, brand category pages, retailer listings, and published ingredient information. Where we describe a product, we stick to what the label or listing states, and we name the category it belongs to. Brand pages like GNC's men's multivitamin range and retail sections like Walgreens' men's category are useful because they show how products are actually positioned on the shelf. We do not run clinical trials, and we do not have a laboratory. We read labels carefully and explain what they say.

Source type How we use it
Product label The supplement facts panel decides what we state about amounts, formats and serving sizes.
Brand category page Shows which formulas a maker groups together and what each range is positioned around.
Retailer listing Tells us how a product is actually sold and shelved, including pack counts and format options.
Published ingredient info Background on what an ingredient is and how it is described across different product panels.

Where a page refers to a category that has since been renamed or reformulated, we update the example rather than leave a stale reference in place.

What we will not claim

You will not find cure, treatment, or prevention language on this site, because supplements are not medicines. We do not publish invented certifications, fabricated study results, or dramatic before-and-after stories. We do not tell you a product will transform your energy, your body, or your health.

Descriptive only

This ingredient appears in these formulas. This format carries a larger mineral load. The category is positioned around energy metabolism.

Checkable or dropped

If a claim cannot be checked against a label or a listing, it stays off the page. No exceptions cut for a brand, and none cut for a headline.

Wellness language

We describe intended use, format and ingredients. We leave diagnosis, dosage decisions and personal health questions to your doctor or pharmacist.

The products we reference

Our pages mention real products to make the categories concrete. We reference them as examples of how categories work, not as recommendations. Mentioning a product is not an endorsement, and we do not list prices as offers.

Four identical matte supplement tablets lined up at equal spacing on a granite-look tray under flat light
Daily men's multis Nature Made's men's daily range, One A Day Men's Multivitamin, and Walgreens' own men's multivitamin category, used as examples of a standard daily tablet.
Two-piece hard supplement capsules with visible seams resting in a compartmented tray on a pale bench
Sports and age-specific ranges GNC's Mega Men lineup including Sport, Energy & Metabolism, and 50 Plus, referenced to show how one maker splits categories by life stage.
A single gel gummy supplement piece with a flat specular highlight on a granite-look tray surface
Gummies and vitality listings One A Day Men's VitaCraves and Natures Health Cougar, a vitality supplement listed by Guardian Indonesia, included as format examples.

Editorial independence

No brand pays for placement on AltaCaliber, and no product page here is sponsored. Our pages are written to answer a specific reading question, and a product appears only when it illustrates that question well.

If you think a page is wrong or a reference is out of date, tell us and we will check it. Corrections are part of the job, and we would rather fix an error than defend one. Write to the editors with the page and the specific line, and we will trace it back to the label or listing it came from.

Who writes the content

The site is produced by an editorial team based in Jakarta, at Jl. Gajah Mada No. 12, Petojo Utara, Gambir. We are writers and researchers who read labels and category pages, not medical professionals. That distinction matters.

Writers

We can explain what a term means and where it appears on a label. We compare how a maker groups its men's range and which formulas sit in which category.

We do not run clinical trials, and we do not have a laboratory. Everything a page states traces back to a panel, a category page, or a listing a reader could find too.

Where the aisle is repositioned — a range renamed, a format retired — we follow the change and update the example rather than leaving an old one standing.

Doctors

We cannot tell you what your body needs, and we do not try. For anything about your own health, your diet, or a medication you take, a doctor or pharmacist is the right person to ask.

Bring a question about a specific product to them with the label in hand. That is a conversation we are not equipped to have, and we say so on every page rather than hint otherwise.

If a reader writes to us asking which bottle to buy, the reply is the same each time: read the panel, then ask a professional about your situation.

How we keep pages current

Supplement ranges change. Formulas get reformulated, categories get renamed, and retailers update their listings. We review pages periodically and note where a reference reflects a category as it stood at the time of writing.

When a brand reorganizes its men's lineup, we update the example rather than leave a stale one in place. If you spot something that no longer matches what you see on a shelf or a listing, the contact page is open — send the page name and the line that looks wrong, and we will recheck it against the current source.

Retail listings and pack formats

Checked when a retailer changes how a men's range is presented or sold.

Brand category pages

Revisited when a maker renames or regroups its men's formulas.

Ingredient glossary entries

Reviewed so a definition still matches how the term is used on current panels.
